We would like to congratulate Jagoda Gumienna, winner of the R.A. Foundation’s ‘“Dream Violin 2024”’ competition, on her participation in the Sommerakademie Angelika Prokopp.

The Sommerakademie Angelika Prokopp is a prestigious educational programme organised by the Vienna Philharmonic, aimed at the most talented young musicians from around the world. The academy, held in Salzburg as part of the Salzburger Festspiele, gives participants a unique opportunity to work under the guidance of outstanding teachers and the Vienna Philharmonic. Young artists take part in masterclasses, orchestra and chamber rehearsals, as well as festival concerts, which are an integral part of this renowned event. During this year’s edition, the orchestra performed six concerts, including works by Franz Schubert: Rondo for Violin and Orchestra in A Major, D. 438, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Minor, Erich Wolfgang Korngold: Symphonic Serenade in B-flat Major, Op. 39. In addition, the academics prepared a repertoire of chamber music.
